Appointed as Information Commissioner on 20 September 2013, Rachael champions proactive disclosure of, and appropriate privacy safeguards for, information held by Queensland government agencies. Rachael and her leadership team engage with agency leaders to promote cultures that build trust through transparency in their oversight and support functions. The external review function provides independent, timely and fair reviews of access decisions made by government Ministers and agencies. Audit reports to Parliament on right to information and privacy compliance and good practice have focused agencies on action required on significant contemporary issues. Rachael and her team support agencies to take action to adopt better RTI and IP practices, including, proactive disclosure, privacy by design administrative access, and pro-disclosure bias in formal access application decision-making.
Prior to her appointment as Information Commissioner, Rachael held senior leadership positions across all functions of the Office of the Information Commissioner since 2005. Rachael has over 20 years public sector experience, having also worked in various roles within the Queensland State and Commonwealth public service, primarily in strategic and legislative policy. Rachael holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Science (AES) and Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Leadership (PSM).

Sven Bluemmel was appointed as the Victorian Information Commissioner in 2017. Before this, Mr Bluemmel served as Western Australian Information Commissioner for eight years.
Mr Bluemmel has held senior positions in the Western Australian Public Sector Commission, the Department of Premier and Cabinet (WA) and the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department. Mr Bluemmel previously practised information and privacy law in the private sector.
Mr Bluemmel is a fellow of Leadership Western Australia and served as President of the Institute of Public Administration in Western Australia for three years. Mr Bluemmel holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Science from the Australian National University.

Annelies Moens was appointed Information Commissioner on 28 July 2025 for a five-year term. Prior to commencing her role, Annelies was the Managing Director of Privcore, a profit-for-purpose privacy, AI and cyber risk management company. In that role she worked with government agencies and private sector organisations in Australia and overseas to uplift data handling practices.
Annelies is the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Vanguard Oceania 2023 Award recipient for demonstrating exceptional leadership, expertise and creativity in privacy and data protection. She is also one of Australia's Superstars of STEM, selected in 2021-2022 for her widely recognised privacy expertise.

John Allen is the Chief Ombudsman of New Zealand. He was appointed by the Governor-General for a five-year term which began on 31 March 2025. Prior to his appointment, he was Chief Executive of the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WellingtonNZ) and Chancellor at Victoria University Wellington - Te Herenga Waka. John has held a number of senior business leadership positions including as Chief Executive of New Zealand Post, Chief Executive and Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Chief Executive of the New Zealand Racing Board.
