Access To Information Principles Working Group
Objective
This Working Group should tangibly accelerate progress in concrete ways to advance the knowledge about Transparency by design with the overarching goal of increasing innovation. These efforts are intended to promote data and knowledge sharing and exchange and best practices in favor of the wellbeing of our communities.

Activities and Products
Principles relating to Transparency by Design
Developed to help authorities follow transparency principles and gain benefits such as:
- Increased trust with citizens
- Public participation
- Greater efficiency in public services
- Fighting corruption and maladministration
Findings Report – ICIC Transparency-by-Design Working Group
Presents measures taken by different jurisdictions to put transparency laws into practice. Includes examples of good practices to improve accountability, openness, and citizen participation.
The Berlin Principles on the Protection and Promotion of Access to Information Commissioners
The International Conference of Information Commissioners formally adopted the Transparency by Design principles to support and strengthen Information Commissioners in their role of enforcing access to information laws.
